How Access to Clean Water Can Improve the World
September 2022
Water is a precious resource that is essential for life and plays a pivotal role to Improve the World. As the value of water rises and its availability decreases, conflict, mortality, and illness are also likely to grow more prevalent as a result of water’s effect. In less developed nations, the struggle for not only water but also clean water is a fight that literally means life or death for many people. As we all know that the global population is expected to continue expanding and that gaining access to clean water will only become more difficult over time, we investigated the significance of clean water and its powers.
Access to clean water can greatly improve the world. Here is how:
Improve the World’s Quality of Water Supply and Hygiene
Access to clean water improves the quality of water supply, sanitation, hygiene, and overall well-being of people. If more people are able to consume cleaner water, it can ensure that they live healthy life.
Better Health and Fewer Deaths
According to research, almost 80 percent of deaths in developing countries occur due to unclean water and sanitation. If everyone gets access to clean water, it can reduce the number of water-borne diseases and, in turn, reduce deaths.
Strengthening of Crops, Better Food
When people have access to clean water, it strengthens their crops. This, in turn, means that overall, the food we consume is hygienic and good for our health.
Less Conflict
Access to water has also often led to conflict between countries. But if everyone has access to clean water, it will reduce conflict between warring countries.
Less Work to Improve the World
Access to clean water will mean less work, especially for women and girls. In almost 80% of homes where clean water is not accessible, the women and girls go out of the house to far-off places to acquire clean water. Access to clean water means less work for the females in the house. Hence, Improve the World they can use that time more effectively.
More School Attendance
If girls are not out collecting water, there will be higher chances for them to attend school. Access to clean water means that members of a community can spend time on education, work, and personal growth.
Improves Economic Growth
If people spend more time on professional growth, they can improve their lifestyles. Come up with a new business idea and spend time materializing it. This can, in turn, improve the economic growth of a country.
Less Pollution
Higher access to clean water will mean less pollution in the world. Contaminated water can increase pollution in water. So, to reduce it, it is essential to provide access to cleaner water.
Preserve Ecosystem
Access to clean water will not just help humans but also protect biodiversity. It will allow animals in the water to thrive in a clean environment.
Climate Change
Climate change is an ongoing issue. It is damaging societies. However, Improve the World if we give access to clean water in these communities, it can help them survive the severe aftereffects of climate change.
How to Make a Difference
We now know why it is so very important to provide clean water to all. Here it is pertinent to mention that Acts for Water is an organization that is providing clean water to people living in Uganda who do not have access to safe, clean drinking water. Girls and women living in Uganda have to travel long distances and cover dangerous roads to access clean water. They are doing this instead of attending school. Thus, the work of Acts for Water is extremely important in providing them with clean drinking water.
You, too, can help!
Donate your time or money to a respectable group that is actively seeking, working toward, or cultivating potential solutions to a problem. Small donations have the potential to go a long way if more people contribute even a little bit. Those who are less fortunate must be taught, and we must have sympathy for them. Gain an awareness of how important it is to have access to clean drinking water and good sanitation facilities; in the United States, Improve the World we tend to take these things for granted because it is difficult to picture living without a toilet or a running tap.
