Uganda Vision Trip

November 9 – 20th

You can view pictures that capture Uganda’s natural beauty, you can read stories about the impact of our work, and you can hear us share about the incredible people we work with … but nothing compares to meeting these people and experiencing these places first-hand. That’s why, for the first time we want to open it up and host a Vision Trip to Uganda!

Uganda Vision Trip

As someone who has made a significant impact on our organization and, more importantly, on the people in Uganda, it’s exciting to entertain the idea of bringing you to the country to see the work the team is doing firsthand.

Brighter Future

The goals of the trip are to:

  1. Connect with the work and the people. See and experience the work you’re so deeply invested in by visiting the schools, health clinics, and communities our projects are in. You’ll have a chance to listen and hear perspectives from community members and honour them by observing the transformation that has happened in their lives.
  2. Connect with our team. The ACTS staff are encouraged by and love visiting with “real people” who help make this work happen. You play a role here in being present, showing an interest in the work, and appreciating their efforts (you will hear the phrase “thank you for appreciating” a lot!). We’ll work with you to determine how we can be more than “just” observers.
  3. Connect with the Place. Take just a moment to put the work in context by appreciating Uganda for more than “just” the issue of water poverty. My recommendation is to take two days to do a Safari (which we’ll arrange). They are incredible, close by, and give you a chance to get a broader perspective.

Here’s a general overview of what you can expect:

  • Day 0: Land in Entebbe late in Evening
  • Day 1: Entebbe (Kampala), tour, money exchange, travel to Mbarara (or rest if needed)
  • Day 2: Connect with the team, local activities
  • Day 3 – Day 6 (AM): Site Visits, Team Connection, Entrepreneurship Program, School Meetup.
  • Day 6 (PM): Drive to Safari
  • Day 7 – 9: Safari
  • Day 10: Travel to Entebbe (Kampala)
  • Day 11: Home
Exploring a wild animal safari adventure in Uganda

We may adjust the schedule depending on the rest time needed, flights, and travel time between locations.

We work in really remote areas. What this means for you is that while we’ll stay at a “decent” hotel, the trip out to the field will be really bumpy and “hard” on the body. We’ll keep you hydrated, and make sure you bring energy bars. However, just know that the days we’re actually “touring” will be more physical due to the environment we work in.

We go as listeners, learners, encouragers, and humble guests of our gracious Ugandan hosts. Recognizing the dignity of each person we encounter, our aim is to honour and bless those we interact with through our presence.

Cost

  • Flight: usually $2,100
  • In Country: $2,000
  • Safari: $1,000
