This is really working:
Ending Water Poverty
This is really working.
We are seeing the most extreme level of poverty being eradicated from communities!
You can see it in the smiling faces and stories, in the improved health and behavourial change, and in the statistics.
One of the most significant stats from the Kicuzi Project is the percentage of households that could meet their basic needs (water, food, shelter, clothing): this increased from 17% (before the project began) to 97% (at the end of the project) to 99% today (12 months after the project was completed)!
Being able to meet basic needs is a key benchmark for poverty alleviation. Thanks to you, people like Harriet, are now better equipped to alleviate extreme poverty.
“I want to thank ACTS for the good things it has brought to our village. You have brought clean water that washes our clothes and bodies! My family is now shining with these new skills you taught us, like making soap, jelly, and bags which have helped us improve our income. Now, sanitation and hygiene in our homes have 100% changed because of ACTS. We all shine because of the services you brought to our community! Thank you!” – Harriet
The investment you have made in getting clean water and hygiene training to Ugandans is having an incredibly positive impact. We couldn’t be more thankful.
To keep up the momentum – keep the water flowing and the poverty alleviation on the rise – we have big goals for World Water Day on March 22nd. To learn more and join us, hop over to acts.ca/wwd.
