Project Update
Gloria was grinning ear to ear when she filled her glass with clean water for the first time, thanks to you.
Your incredible support has led to the successful completion of the water system in her community of Irimya!
She and her 7,000 neighbours now have reliable and consistent access to clean water for the entire community.
“I feel so much happiness. I don’t know how to explain it but I feel all of my life is so fresh and so happy,” she shared with overwhelming joy.
“We see so much development in our future now! We were spending money for the clinics, but we will no longer face those diseases and can now do other activities to develop our homes. Our kids are going to be in classes in time and no longer walk that long distance!”
Here are the BIG highlights of your impact on this project:
- With 37 newly installed taps, accessing water now takes less than 30 minutes instead of 2 hours, significantly improving daily life for everyone.
- Safe, private toilets are now fully operational in primary schools, enhancing sanitation, and reducing the risk of waterborne diseases among students.
- The WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) training is almost finished at 95% completion, with the final government verification set for October. This training is essential for educating the community on proper hygiene practices, further promoting health and well-being.
