Project Update
Something big just took place in Irimya where our team has been working for over a year.
You may remember that back in April, the first phase of this big water project was completed, bringing water to 7,300 more people.
But it didn’t stop there, your support continues to unlock life-changing progress.
Phase Two of the Irimya water project is now complete!

Here’s how your generosity is rippling forward to transform this community:
- 38 new taps are flowing with clean, safe water
- 7,300 people across seven villages are now gaining health and hope
- The time to collect water has been cut in half, saving women and children up to 1 hour and 40 minutes each day
- Two primary schools now have appropriate sanitation blocks, improving student health and reducing absenteeism by 25%
- Six out of seven villages have reached final-stage Open Defecation Free (ODF) verification—a major milestone in hygiene and dignity
But the transformation doesn’t stop at the tap.

We’re also seeing:
- Entrepreneurship and livelihood training is flourishing, with 11 women-led savings groups collectively saving over 15 million UGX and launching soap-making and piggery businesses.
- 3 Life Gardens are growing nutritious food, improving family health, and generating income.
- Behind the scenes, local leaders are stepping up. Registered water committees and ongoing training in leadership and financial literacy are helping ensure these gains last for generations.

What started with clean water is now blooming into something even greater: empowered communities, healthier homes, and a brighter future for the next generation.
All of this is thanks in part to you – this group of caring Canadians – who keep showing up in support of neighbours around the world.
